Between 3:15pm - 5:15pm on 22nd September we had a network issue in the uplink to one of our racks.

During this time we worked with our uplink supplier and it seems our switch in this rack was causing a broadcast storm which was switching off the connectivity to the rack.

The network provider have increased the limit of the allowed broadcast storm which has brought the rack back online

we're going to replace the Dell switch with a new advanced Cisco switch this evening that has technology to automatically shutdown just the port of the server causing the attack which would avoid our uplink provider doing it to the entire rack.
